In the beginning…


The idea of incorporating a non-governmental organisation (NGO) called ‘The Better Society Foundation’ (TBSF) was first mooted at a national meeting of long standing associates held informally in December 2001. At that meeting, the name proposed was ‘The Better Society Forum’ (TBSF) but this was amended in the course of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) which was completed on the 19th of August 2004.

Our Vision and Mission


To create an independent, international, non-governmental, membership organisation which is free from political or religious affiliations, and does not discriminate on grounds of race, ethnicity, gender or religion.

To pursue excellence, positive leadership and foster sustainable empowerment of a participative process of capacity building in society.
